He felt comfortable scamming you because he didn't think you--or anyone else in his course--would ever be "big" enough in the industry to be listened to and taken seriously. If he thought you, or anyone else in the course, would ever be an industry leader with the ability to expose him or have your story listened to, he wouldn't have pawned any of you off onto staff and would have taken your feedback much better. You don't treat equals--or people you think one day will be equals--in such a crappy manner. Which sort of implies that he knew his course was bogus and wouldn't lead to anyone "making it."

Thanks for sharing this, even though this is out of the topic but when I wanted to start my POD Journey, I came across so many UA-camrs content, I felt so lost as most of the content seems overpromising, until I came across your Channel, even though you have lesser views compared to others, but all of your content are so genuine and real. I decided to sign up for your course and it was the best choice I've ever made as the value you provided is JUST WOW! And makes me realised the videos I saw on YT by telling how easy POD is, is total BS. HAHA I was surprised at how detailed every module is, so clear and easy to follow and the price you charged is so reasonable as the effort, time you put in is far more than the price we pay. I can see you go the extra mile and I'm just so grateful that I watched your videos and the fact that you always speak the truth. Your videos are SUPER HELPFUL so that we are not BLINDED. Thank you!

I feel your pain man. I got taken for $8k back in 2015, bet the farm on being able to get government bids. Promised the world, delivered a turd. If the guy said 1:1 then didn't deliver that's an immediate lie / chargeback. Yikes, never heard of this guy but it sounds like you're being less condemning because he has a circle of seemingly trustworthy people.

Thanks for sharing your experience! I once handed over around $3K to an "agency" to help me with social media marketing my new POD business. I was full of hope, but after a month in realised they were doing the bare minimum and I could do that work myself for free. I cut ties with them but had to pay out the rest of the contract. It was an expensive lesson, but now I just do it all myself and learned a lot more that way without paying anyone else.

That is like Vanessa L. to me. I was about to sign up for her Instagram course/training/ group and thank goodness I didn't because she totally left all her clients and her staff and everything and closed up shop. But yet I see her now trying to build back the audience and trying to convince everyone that they should trust her again. And of course a big sob story on why she left and how she is better now after finding herself. Burns me! And sorry you got scammed. That's awful.

I suspect you and your brother weren't the only ones scammed by this fake guru. I have a feeling others were ripped off by this guy. Speaking out and sharing your story story is important to avoid other from suffering the same thing. Hopefully, others will see this and come forward with their experience to ensure no one else lose money in the future.

Thanks for your video. I recently removed all my designs and closed two of my RB stores after they downgraded me. The fees being taken each month was ridiculous and upsetting. It's a complete cash grab from them and I'm personally looking forward to the class action lawsuit that's inevitable. As far as Etsy their bot is notorious for suspending/closing stores, contact support is practically non-existent, and their fees are ridiculous as well. They are also quick to refund customers even when it's clear the customer is scamming. I recently heard they have begun closing more shops because of items not following their handmade policy and now have a $15 registration. So folks should proceed with caution. Your second recommendation is good. However, I'm still in search for additional similar marketplaces.

Sounds like Dylan Jahraus. $9k for a horrible course and “coaching” (which amounted to group calls with completely unknown coaches + a community where most sellers were completely new and didn’t know better). I feel so stupid for handing her my money. I’ve been selling for years and still fell prey to it. Thanks for speaking out, Shimmy. thank you for sharing this experience - the lack of motivation after being scammed out of money or time is so real and relatable. Quite a different scenario but I worked as a freelance writer for a marketing company for over 5 years. Their payment schedule was always a little off and I almost always had to remind them to pay invoices but by the last year I worked with them it was like pulling teeth to even get their accounting person to answer me while their project managers continued to pile on work and get angry with me for not accepting assignments despite me telling them I was not being paid. Eventually I had almost $9,000 in unpaid invoices from them and found out they had been doing similar things to other freelancers. I finally got fed up and posted a negative (honest) review of the company and the owner threatened me with legal action and responded to the review saying they did not have an employee by my name and claimed it was a fake review to get the website to take it down. It's been about a year since this and I still haven't been able to go back to freelancing. I have zero motivation to do that kind of work ever again and I still feel defeated by all the time and energy that took from me. Print on Demand and quality content from creators like you has truly helped keep me afloat during this time and gives me some hope while i'm struggling to figure out what else I can do. Sorry, for this extremely long comment but what you said about him taking more than money from you really hit home for me.

I am glad you are exposing this creep Guru, I have personally been ripped off like this, at an even higher cost. This is just a reminder just how some people in this world just don't have a conscience and only care about themselves and money. She's been getting away with scamming people out of thousands of dollars for SO long now, and no one has been successful in calling her out. Her and her team do serious recon and delete anything SLIGHTLY negative about her. Reddit is FILLED with stories of people losing over 10k+ because of her

Hey Bro. Don't feel so bad about this Brother. I live in the U.S specifically California and so many people I know have paid up to 100,000 for mentorship with absolutely no real results at all. I hear people almost every week complaining that if they only invested thier money into products instead of a so called guru they would have been better off? It's like a athlete paying for training and mentorship from a person or group who don't know thier particular sport. This unfortunately happens all the time Brother. Remember we all learn from our mistakes in business, that's how we become successful. Yes $10,000 is quite a bit, but really not so much. Mark it up as a mistake in your learning curve. I have been around the online scene for awhile, totally agree with Juna and Chris in the god tier, I would put Philip in the god tier too. I would move Ryan down to meh, I never upload to niches Ryan recommends they are just over crowded and I find his advice dated, he hasn't changed it up in years, he is also so into getting that affiliate commission, I just don't trust him now. I know you YTbers need to make money with affiliate, Ryan is just a step too far, that and his courses are what he really makes money on. Heather down to meh, she just isn't solid enough and her past a bit murky, Joe is a definite should try if you can get past him not having a sense of humor and I like that he changes it up by not doing t shirts. Dylan down to Meh, I've seen her store and I think her videos are too edited. Part 2 should be with Starla Moore, she is in god tier. No one does Etsy as well as Starla and she is a manager at Erank, so she has a lot of inside knowledge, she also goes the extra mile for the creator community and recently dedicated a lot of time helping people get their shops back on Etsy. Jay from Jays Way is pretty good too.

Take this as a learning lesson in just how powerful and convincing a good sales pitch can be!

Hey Shimmy, I'm from India and I got two instagram faceless pages in vintage cars and horror niche with 40k followers, 5k story views and 10k reels views with atleast 500 likes. I am doing this pages thing first times but got followers. Now I was looking for monetize this and randomly asked my followers in story if I would sell merch would you buy? I got some reply and I thought to give it a try. Cars page got Indian audience 50% and horror page got US audience 60%. I made an account on printify and started creating designs but yesterday I saw your channel. You got such a genuine vibe, that's what I felt. Now what do you think I should do- selling on printify for US audience and Blinkstore for Indian audience or anything soecific I should try? Should I create design by myself (I'm good at it by using canva) or should I use the tool creative fabrica? Sorry for putting up with such info but I am doing POD for the first time and it's overwhelming, exciting, and interesting...hmmm it seem like puberty (well, sorry for a bad joke). But please may tell me any advice or a thing to do?
